The Nebraska Probation System is organizationally aligned under the Nebraska Supreme Court and, as such, complies with Policies and Procedures approved by the Nebraska Supreme Court.
The Nebraska Probation System employs probation officers throughout the state. Primary duties of probation officers may include the following: supervise adult and/or juvenile probationers, conduct presentence or predisposition investigations and conduct juvenile intake interviews.
Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis in social sciences, criminal justice or related fields.
As openings become available, they are posted on the Nebraska Supreme Court’s Web site www.supremecourt.ne.gov/job-openings under the job openings section. Positions may also be listed on the Nebraska State Personnel Department’s Job Service Web site, www.wrk4neb.org, in addition to being advertised in classified sections of local newspapers. Applications are accepted for specific openings only.
