Work Ethic Camp (WEC)

We believe building on the strengths of offenders creates a basis for positive growth and change

Implemented:

2001 as an Intermediate Sanction

Created:

An integrated program, in partnership between Probation Administration and the Department of Correctional Services, which combines evidence-based practices within a highly structured environment to achieve offender behavioral change and reduced risk of recidivism as they transition back into the community under close supervision.

Located:

McCook, Nebraska

Target Population:

Offenders who lack life stabilization and are disengaged (chronic or situational) in multiple areas (family, school, employment, housing), resulting in criminal activity often associated to substance abuse. Felony Offenders as an adjunct to intensive supervision and as a pre-parole program for prison inmates. 

Programming:

Work Ethic including offender work detail and employment readiness, Short- Term Substance Abuse Residential Treatment, Education, Cognitive Groups and Community Transition.
