Six Submit their Names for District Court Judge in the Sixth Judicial District

LINCOLN – Justin D. Bignell, Fremont; Zachary L. Blackman, Lincoln; Erik W. Fern, Lincoln; Michael W. Jensen, Omaha; James K. McGough, Waverly; and Patrick R. Runge, Omaha, have submitted applications for appointment as District Court Judge in the 6th Judicial District consisting of Burt, Cedar, Dakota, Dixon, Dodge, Thurston, Washington Counties. The primary place of office for the judicial vacancy is Blair, Washington County, Nebraska. The vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge John E. Samson.

The public hearing of the Judicial Nominating Commission will be held in the District Courtroom of the Washington County Courthouse, 1555 Colfax Street, Blair, Nebraska, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. The Commission will review all applicants for the office at that time.  The public is welcome to attend the hearing and present information concerning candidates for the judicial opening.
